    Why's the post field so large?

    Just curious does anyone know why there's so much space between the post text and the signature? Seems like an awful waste of space! Plus it's extra scrolling when reading posts. I can imagine this getting old when an uber long thread emerges.

    Edit: Is it because of the left panel containing the posters avatar and info?
