Is anyone thinking about buying one? They look very interesting. I'm leaning toward buying one.

I've been considering one of these for a long time.

There is a new Kindle...the Kindle 2. Here's a link to it:

Yes, it is...that's the only thing holding me back right now. I have to think about it and see if I can justify the cost. Right now I'm thinking I can't. I can afford it, but still. One can buy a lot of books for that much money.Adam wrote:I like it a lot, but man it's expensive!

I need a new lap top right now or at least an ipod touch so this will have to wait until maybe this Christmas.

Yeah, but Kindle's books are cheaper--it might pay for itself in the end!

Very true. And I can think of a number of applications in the ministry where this device could be very helpful. I could have multiple translations at my fingertips, a great number of books that I can annotate for use in teaching and preaching and even have sermon notes on it.Scottish Lass wrote:Ivan wrote: One can buy a lot of books for that much money.

Even just for traveling, it seems like a good idea. Instead of lugging five books on a trip, you could have everything at your fingertips. For someone who flies a lot or is worried about shipping weight (like missionaries) this would be a great solution, too.

Re: Amazon's Kindle 2
Is the Kindle as easy on the eyes as the advertising claims? I just have a fear it's akin to my laptops screen, which gives me a headache after an hour or so. That pretty much would squelch any marathon reading I planned with the Kindle! In that case I'd be better off sticking with hard copies.

The demo video is filmed outside on a sunny day. It specifically says it uses no backlighting and is different than laptops.
